meditation influence self-care
Meditation has always been part of my life. I've practiced it since childhood and have found its benefits very useful. As I get older, however, I'm finding myself struggling to balance between self care and productivity. Can you shed some light?
I started practicing meditation regularly in 2001, at age 13. Since then, I've attended several courses and workshops where I learned to meditate from various teachers. In addition to being able to concentrate better (and calm down after a stressful day), I found that the practice helps me deal with stress, sleep better, become less reactive, improve my focus, and increase overall awareness.
For years, I've struggled to strike a balance between self care and work. I’ve tried to practice mindfulness throughout the day, but sometimes that gets lost amidst the chaos of deadlines and obligations. My experiences suggest that meditation has helped me create space for things that matter, such as taking time to relax or simply enjoy the moment. If you're looking to develop a healthier relationship with work, try these five simple steps to start cultivating mindful habits.
1) Meditation helps us focus our attention and learn how to control it. We’ll explore what happens to the brain during meditation exercises, and how those changes affect your mood and quality of sleep.
2) When we meditate regularly, it makes us healthier and happier by helping us cope better with stressful situations.
3) In addition to boosting your immune system and calming your mind, mindfulness practice may help improve your mental clarity and reduce anxiety.
