The healthiest things you do each day
1. Drink Water!
The primary thing I drink Each day is water! Our bodies are 70% water, so drinking enough water is extremely important. You should try to keep yourself at 100-120 ounces per day (2.7 gallons) for optimal health and hydration levels. Try to consume lots of fresh fruit juices and veggies throughout the day too.
2. Get 8 hours of rest an evening.
Rest is ostensibly the main thing we do as people. When you don't get enough sleep, you're going to feel tired, irritable, have mood swings, and lose focus. Plus, you'll probably make bad decisions while you're sleep deprived, like eating junk food. Make sure to go to bed around 9pm and wake up before 6am every single morning.
3. Exercise everyday.
Try to exercise daily. Not only does it help you maintain a healthy weight and build muscle, but it boosts self confidence and keeps mind sharp. Find activities that you enjoy doing to stay motivated and committed to achieving your fitness goals.
4. Eat a well balanced diet.
Eating right goes hand-in-hand with exercising. There's no point in spending time working out if you're not consuming foods to fuel your body. Make sure to eat plenty of vegetables, lean protein, whole grains, fruits and nuts. Cut down on processed foods, refined sugar, artificial sweeteners and trans fats!
5. Smile often.
Smiling makes people happier! Studies show that smiling actually changes our brain waves to produce endorphins - natural painkillers. So smile often and watch how happy you become :)
6. Watch what you’re putting on your skin.
We spend about 90% of our lives outside. That's why taking good care of our skin is so important. Use a sunscreen with a minimum SPF 30 and wear hats and long sleeves whenever possible. Avoid using deodorants/perfumes, nail polish removers, hair spray, hairspray, etc. on your face since these products may clog pores and cause breakouts. Instead use oils, lotions or gels instead. Remember that the sun doesn't just harm your skin, it harms your entire body as well.
7. Take a bath.
Baths relax us, release toxins, relieve aches and pains, and improve circulation. One of my favorite ways to take a bath is to add 2 cups of apple cider vinegar to a tub full of warm water. Let soak for 20 minutes before rinsing off.
